Even with a bigger budget and a comic book character-friendly atmosphere in Hollywood, they still cant make a Ninja Turtles film that tops the original, 1990 film, with its low budget, gritty, geen against brick, urban vibe; darkly lit rubbery suits designed by the late and great Jim Henson; a still unreleased, ominous and synth-tastic film score; an April ONeil who doesnt look like a stripper; and foot soldiers who actually look like the foot soldiers, and not the putty dudes from Power Rangers.
