Everton’s midfielder Marouane Fellaini wants to move to London, which indicates that Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger will have to spend big this summer, as revealed by The Daily Mirror. The Gunners are reluctant to pay the £23 million release clause in Fellaini’s contract. The former Everton’s manager is also interested in signing Fellaini for Manchester United, but some sources reveal that Fellaini wants to make a move to Arsenal or Chelsea and the Belgium midfielder is willing to listen to their offers. The North Londoners manager has clearly shown his interest in the Belgium star, and the Emirates’ club insists that they have the funds in hand to influence the transfer market, and make big signings. Arsenal’s Chief executive Ivan Gazids said this week on Wenger: “He is not scared to spend money, but he has to believe he is a getting a top-class player.” However, Wenger does not seem very convinced that £23million for Fellaini represents ‘good value’, and is not prepared to spend the desired amount of money that will trigger his release clause. Former Everton boss signed Fellaini for a Everton-record fee of £15million from Standard Liege in 2008 and since then, the fee has risen. The 25 years old scored 12 goals and made 5 assists in 31 appearances for the Toffees. –
