Exterior changes to the Stagecoach Inn caused the Harris - TopicsExpress

Exterior changes to the Stagecoach Inn caused the Harris Stagecoach Inn to lose it historic landmark status with the State of Texas. However, the Round Rock Historic Overlay Zoning allows relocating a historic structure without the structure losing its status and when inappropriate changes to a structure are reversible, the structure can recapture its contributing status. The changes in the windows and the roof materials were deemed inappropriate. Those certainly could be reversible. The original exterior of the inn on the south side was retained when the addition was added to the original structure; thus that addition is reversible. In my view, the Harris Stagecoach Inn (with reversing the inappropriate changes) could again be classified as a contributing historic landmark in Round Rock. The Harris Stagecoach Inn (with or without it changes) is a structure worth saving in the City of Round Rock.
