For 42 years, every summer, vanners have gathered at the National Truck-In. The location changes every year. It has been held from Rhode Island to California, and from Wisconsin to Mississippi. It is our big bash, our premier event, our national championship van show, and our family reunion, all wrapped into a weeklong party. Bands, movies, cruises, vendors, games, and some great campsite meals all make up this week of fun. Tomorrow, for the 41st consecutive year, I will head on down the road to the Nationals. The economy has kicked me hard in the ass, but through the generosity of 2 friends, I will be able to attend. Tim and Suzanne graciously offered me the use of their van for sleeping, and my club Chairman, Mike Hilburger, is letting me drive his HHR panel while he gets beaten up by a physical therapist early in the week. Vanning is about friends, family and fun! Time to start packing!
