Founder, Lead Organizer, and Curator, Dr. Teresa Vasquez-Terry, is sharing special notes about each speaker that will give you more insight into who they are and why they were so powerful on the TEDxAntioch stage. Here is 4 of 11. PLEASE WATCH AND SHARE! Go to YouTube and share your thoughts about the talk and hit the thumbs up if you like it! (I know you will!) ___________ When I first met Tony Peterson, he drilled me on how I was impacting my community and what work I was doing with a local non-profit in Antioch. He seemed to be the quiet type, but I learned really quickly how intelligent and straight-forward he actually is, which was quite refreshing. His TEDxAntioch journey began with the idea of talking about race through a humorous look back to the changes of his hair and it transformed into one of the best, most genuine talks I have ever heard about race and the realities that face us all. I was so challenged by his fervor and passion on the subject, he ultimately taught me that I needed to empower my family and community to embrace race and talk openly about it. Tony is one of those guys who someone would trust because of his loyalty and honesty. I am so lucky and honored to have worked with him, and I don’t think he knows the impact he has made on me and my family. Out of the gate, his talk did well and started conversations with people from all over the world. In less than 3 days, his video had been viewed over 1,000 times on YouTube and shared 3 times as many! Perhaps this is the kind of message that the world needed and wanted too! Thank you so much, Tony, for challenging us and believing that we can do and talk about hard things! We, as a community and society, are indebted to you for starting this conversation!
