Areas of light sleet and snow will continue to spread east northeast tonight across northeast Texas...southeast Oklahoma...and southwest Arkansas where temperatures are near or just above freezing. In addition...another reinforcement of Arctic air will spill southeast into the region overnight...with temperatures falling to near or below freezing around midnight mainly northwest of a Tyler and Jefferson Texas...to Lewisville and Prescott Arkansas line. Very light sleet and snow accumulations have been observed this evening on grassy surfaces and elevated objects across portions of extreme northeast Texas...McCurtain County Oklahoma...and adjacent sections of southwest Arkansas. As temperatures continue to cool into the mid to upper 20s and the remainder of the light wintry mix diminishes...areas of patchy ice may develop on elevated roadways...bridges and overpasses. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution when traveling overnight through Monday morning. Any patchy ice that does develop should melt by mid morning as temperatures climb back above freezing.
