GMOs are a hot button. I cant post any kind of update without GMO comments bubbling up. Came across this article and have to share it. (Id rather someone eat a conventional apple than an organic, GMO-free potato chip, btw). A label like that of the Non-GMO Project, though, is uniquely effective at making GMOs seem scary. It highlights—and exaggerates—the prevalence of GMOs in other sections of your grocery store...Massive studies and reviews conducted by academic scientists, US government researchers, and the much more GMO-skeptical European Union have found that GMOs, while not without risks, are relatively safe, and have the potential for significant social benefits. And labels warning about genetic engineering tend to scare consumers, and give the impression that GMOs are more dangerous than they are. Dr. McDougall calls GMO a dangerous distraction from the real issues. Please read the article. Id love to hear your thoughts!! The point about almonds really grabbed my attention!
