Good Evening! Hope all is well with you and your families. Had a Tribal Council meeting yesterday in Whiteriver, the meeting on 2012 audit done by REDW and Tribes financial status. The 2012 audit was finally done and it was reported to the council. The Tribes finance Department did their report on the tribes finance. The tribe has spend more than what its made and the report didnt look good. Since 2003, the tribe has been in the RED about average $8million every year, we are in the BLACK with restricted funds, Federal Programs(Grants&Contract), some Water Rights Settlement funds and revenue from Hon-Dah casino, BUT overall we are in the RED. The Tribes Tax increase for Enterprises on the northern boundary was also discuss but it was TABLED when the issue of increasing cigarette sales tax was discuss. One of the council wanted to use the budget report at his campaign rallies, I told him tell the people we are in the RED and the last 4yrs the deficit INCREASE. Today went to Phoenix for the Arizona Indian Gaming meeting, the Arizona Gaming industry is doing well. Last week I was in Phoenix for the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona Tribal Leaders meeting for Chairman Lupe. So much to write about.
