Good afternoon Players, Starting next week we begin our draft skates (September 4, 11, 18) with the new season scheduled to begin tentatively September 25. This season comes with some minor changes that are due in part to many of the arenas in the downriver area either closing their ice rinks or converting them to indoor soccer arenas. This resulting in a supply & demand situation as team leave their closed arenas and look for new homes such as our league did nearly ten years ago. Trenton Kennedy Community arena has been flooded with team/ league applicants this year due to these rink closings. With that said, Kennedy management have informed our league management that we will now have to adjust our starting time on Thursdays games for 9:10 & 10:10 pm. We were pretty much blindsided by this order and of course objected to the change with no recourse. Being that it is so late in the year it would be nearly impossible to land a new contract elsewhere. We were left with no choice but to accept this change! As a result, we have informed Kennedy Management that we will be seeking other accommodations for next season! We hope that this will not be a burden to you and your families schedules as we anticipate some negative feedback. I would hope that you would all understand that we did our best to reverse this decision with no results. We are disappointed to say the least. So now we must put this behind us and move forward with the season. Please remember to check in at the lobby and register with the league. You will need the usual: Please bring us a COPY of your USA HOCKEY REG sheet. $100.00 reg fee. Please consider bringing any players you would consider a good fit in our group. As youve seen in the past, players come and go. Its unpredictable. Either due to injuries, work or family schedules. I would also like to announce that we have two new managers who have volunteered to run their respective teams. Thank you Ryan Portelli & Tom Hammill who along with Randy Buda & Doug Pastor will manage this year! New this year, rotation of the team managers!
