Good day friends and family, welcome to another week on this inspiring platform. Today I want to ask a question, what is the sharing formula for household financial responsibilities between couples? Is it 60-40, 50-50 or 90-10? Read the story below and kindly drop your advice. Sir, I need your advice. I have been in a relationship with a young man for about 8months now and it has been very rosy. I love him so much and I couldn’t help looking forward to settling down with him until like 4 weeks ago when we started having an argument on who will foot majority of the bills. Presently I work in an oil servicing company and I am being paid well, he works with a financial institution. The discussion on how we will be handling the bills at home came up and he is insisting that I will foot 60percent of the bills because I earn more than him. I am becoming very uncomfortable with him because even when we go out he expects me to pay for all the expenses incurred and this is getting me really worried. I am the first of 5 children and my young ones are still in school and I have been footing the family bills since dad passed away early last year. I am scared my fiance’s stand will affect my commitment to my family and I have always thought the man should fend for his family with assistance from the wife, why is this young man not ashamed? I am beginning to think that he is after my money. What do I do?
