Good job, for cutting the gen ed and giving the technical training at&t. Tech schools give 1 year of focused education but more is often needed, but is only achieved when you get a masters. A bachelors gives 3 years of gen ed and 1 year of specialization realistically due to 2 years of gen ed, a year of electives and a minor, a year in major.A associates on the other hand is a semester or 1 year of gen ed with a year of specialization is a far better investment Then a masters is1-2 years of concentrated study on 1 field and a doctorate is 4 years of concentrated study. Why is the bachelors degree more expensive than a associates but has higher cost with the least amount of useful content.dont say you go to learn or better yourself because you can buy a book for a fraction of the cost without that 5 figure expense/ and possibly debt, With no gurantee of a career, college should be viewed as a high risk high return investment. Colleges should supply a cost to benefit analysis of each major andcut the ones to either a minor status or completely that do not pay the cost to attend the college (tuition only) within 5 years. Using the mean salary without the outliers ( extremely high or low salaries). Im sorry gen ed should be replaced with more specialized classes or greatly reduced to 1 semester, because gen ed is a repeat of high school a d the only purpose they serve is to get more money out of students. Well rounded (generalization) does not pay as well as a focused (specialized) posistion.
