Good morning Zane, I just love the advice you and your fans - TopicsExpress

Good morning Zane, I just love the advice you and your fans give to the people that are in need of it. I need some advising. I am a 24 year old college freshman. I started school late because I chose to serve my country ( 6 years in the national guard). I was under the impression that the Government was going to pay for my education because thats what I was told throughout my whole military career. Anyway I was honorably discharged (reached the end of my contract) I enrolled in school with the impression it would be paid for. I applied for my GI bill and Was denied twice. I reached out to my congress and they couldnt help. I called my former unit to get advice and the E-7 in charge told me I wasnt their problem anymore. It was very frustrating, but I went ahead and went to school anyway. I got down there seeking help from anybody I could. ( I went off to school in a different state.. No family no friends... A new environment) I was still running into dead ends. By the Grace of God I got to claim the state of residence so I can get in-state tuition (thanks to my DD-214) my financial aid doesnt cover most of it and by the end of the year I will owe the school close to $4,000. I dont have that kind of money and neither does my family (my grandmother raised me). I apply for scholarships and grants but I never get them. I contact the financial aid office for my school and they do not have any money to give. I contact my alumni chapter and nothing either. Its starting to stress me because I want to be here. My grades reflect it. I have been working since I was 16 and I know that for my goals a college education is required! I am a 4.0 student I received straight As. I work hard. Always have and always will. I just need help as in scholarships, grants, fellowships, anything that you can steer me to. I am also looking for a summer intern. My field of study is Business my concentration is Marketing and I am minoring in international business because I love to travel. So if you could help me or get the word out I would greatly appreciate it. MY RESPONSE: Very sad but I am also very proud of you. I am not sure where you are located or where you go to school but I would continue to fight for the educational resources you were promised. I would contact local companies with big marketing departments, ask for an appointment with the head person (they can only say yes or no) and tell them your story. Also, try to go to some local networking events for marketing professionals or business networking. Lastly, look into some kind of Internet marketing or sales marketing positions. I hope this all turns out but I am claiming it for you. Do not give up. A lot can change, even in the course of a single day. I have seen it happen.
