Got my reply from the integrative medicine center I contacted for - TopicsExpress

Got my reply from the integrative medicine center I contacted for an appointment to evaluate my chronic fatigue. They do not accept insurance (which I knew), but the least expensive doctor I can see there has rates of 60 minutes for $475. Follow up visits are based on time and their hourly rate is $600. To see the head and founder of the group (which is who I was referred to by my physiatrist), a consultation visit is $1300 for 90 minutes, and $1800 for 120 minutes. He will get a complete medical history, and order labs to be done at the initial visit. The labs take 3-5 weeks to get the results back, at which time I would schedule a 45 minute to 60 minute follow-up visit where he will go over all of the labs, and write up a complete treatment plan that is customized to my medical needs. After the follow-up visit, I will need to determine if I would like to continue to be under his care and pay the annual membership fee of $3200 in addition to his $660 hourly rate for the visits. So...my question is: has anyone gone this route (not necessarily to this particular center) with an integrative medicine practice and was your experience worth the investment? I am not sure how to proceed. As Im not working right now, this would be a huge investment but as a PhD scientist, myself, I know that experts are not inexpensive. Im open to feedback from others who have gone this route. Tell me your experiences...
