Had to miss a day, but here goes my penultimate gratitude post. I - TopicsExpress

Had to miss a day, but here goes my penultimate gratitude post. I am grateful for living in a place where I am not worried about my kids going outside to play and never seeing them again. I think its important not to take something so simple for granted, especially at a time like this. I am grateful for my goofy, neurotic dog, Hudson, who reminds me every day that unconditional love does exist. He makes me smile, particularly when I want to cry because my 14-year-old is driving me crazy! And finally, heres my left-fielder: I am grateful to Pete Seeger, gone but never forgotten. Pete has had a great impact on my life. Through his activism, pacifism and compassion he set (and continues to set) an example of how to be a decent human being. And despite all the wrongs America has perpetrated in the past, continues to perpetrate in the present and undoubtedly will perpetrate in the future, Pete is a man who will always symbolize the best of my country and remind me to be grateful and proud to be an American (which is something I need reminding of from time to time). Today I nominate the very special Maja Prausnitz Hendrickson who lives down the road and who I wish I saw more, and Helen Davies, whom I also miss, even though shes not so far away! So, lovelies - five days, three things to be grateful for each day. To all my nominees, I hope it doesnt feel like a chore - I only chose you because I wanted to share what I feel is a wonderful and cathartic exercise... xx
