Hello Huey Followers; Today was a rough day, some of you may - TopicsExpress

Hello Huey Followers; Today was a rough day, some of you may have seen a post earlier on Facebook about Harley. He was found in Fallbrook, Ca and looks to have possibly been a bait dog. I was fortunate enough to spend some time with Harley this afternoon at the vet hospital where he is currently staying. He is an absolute sweetheart! They think he is around 7 years old, but once again, the condition of his teeth makes it hard to tell for certain. He has numerous bites on his face, a bite above his right eye (that looks infected), a nasty bite behind his left ear and a bleeding bite on his back. He appears to have issues with his rear legs. I cant tell if his legs are bad or if he has an injury to his bottom. He allowed me to sit in his kennel with him, carry him outside to sit in the sun, then back inside. We bought him a sweater at the local pet store and he allowed me to put it on him. He is emaciated and weak, but soaked my face in kisses. His back molars are totally missing and his other teeth have been filed down. This baby has been through hell. Seeing him took me back to a month ago today when I brought Huey home. My heart continues to break for these babies in need. Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary is the rescue backer and any donations can be called into Fallbrook Animal Hospital at 760-728-8358 (please mention Harley and tell them Huey sent you). Huey and I paid for a blood panel so hopefully we will have results tomorrow. He is going to need X-rays at the very least. We should have more information tomorrow when the test results are back. Once again I find myself speechless at the total lack of regard for an animal. Those who hurt these precious babies need to be afraid; we are coming. Over the past two days Hueys number of followers has really slowed down. While we are eternally grateful for our friends, we need that number to keep growing. Each person that reads his (and Harleys) story is another person educated to the viciousness our dogs are enduring right in our own neighborhoods. We need all eyes on the lookout to help stop this senselessness. Lets make the world hear us. Ive exhausted the local news stations and publications, but I refuse to let Hueys story fade. Keep spreading the good work and fighting the good fight.
