Hey USA fans- Great news! Like I said yesterday, there is no need to pack up your red, white and blue World Cup Support for the summer, as the USA Womens National Rugby team is currently in preparation to represent our great country at the Womens Rugby World Cup in August! How you do show that you still #believe? Im glad you asked. Womens rugby players in the US arent offered the benefit of playing the sport professionally. These women work in the retail and hospitality industries. They are teachers, medical students, college students, research assistants, a captain in the Marines- you name it. Basically, they have every day jobs and lives, like you and I, that they miss time from (and pay checks they take money out of) to represent the USA. Yes, thats right, for the most part, they foot their own bill to be one of the best athletes in the world and to represent our country. Why do it? For love of the game, for love of our country. So, all you patriots out there, I beseech thee on behalf of these amazing women. Some of them I know personally, some of them I know from playing, some of them I only know because I desperately wish I had their ability... But, I urge you to support these wonderful ladies on the final leg of their journey towards the #finalin14.
