Hey so I have a weird story that I just put some dots together on and I thought Id throw it out to the crowd to see what peoples thoughts are. I came home from a social event to discover someone parked in my space. Actually, both my space and my neighbours; it was straddling the divide. The car was familiar but I didnt think too much of that. So I knocked on some doors and no one claimed ownership. I called some tow trucks, but there are a number of major collisions around Regina so everyone was all tied up until morning. As I was calling around, my neighbour whose spot was also partially blocked pulled up. We got talking and apparently this guy does it all the time. He regularly gets his car towed and he parks all over the lot in other peoples places. I just hadnt run into it before because my car doesnt move much anymore except for short stints in the mid evening to yoga and whatnot. Theres another car just across that also does the same thing, my neighbour pointed out, and he has also had towed a number of times. There was nothing more I could do, so I planned to deal with it in the morning if it remained. But later on I left the apt briefly to go grab something and saw the car pulling out. I immediately remembered that I had just moments earlier as I was grabbing my shoes heard the mysterious door open and close. (Ill explain that in a moment.) I got suspicious, went back inside, and waited. Moments later the door opened and closed again as they returned. Okay so why mysterious, right? In my block there are four suites per floor. I have many times seen the occupants of two of the others, but the most recent arrivals I have never seen, only at very weird random hours heard coming and going. More weird, they never have lights on. Never. I have never once in several months seen a light on in their apartment, even when there is a car in their spot - often a car that I now recognised as being the one often in their spot, and the same car which tonight partially occupied my stall. I had knocked on their door and no one answered. There was no light on. Clearly someone was home, and awake, and at least partially aware of what had transpired (some of the conversation was in the common adjoining hall). So what gives here? What kind of people are these that live in the dark even while awake and have no problem stealing everyones parking spaces even at the cost of regularly being towed?
