Hi all. I should of posted earlier but for reasons I will explain I have found it difficult to post on here without sounding angry. I did this tree to make deserving ppl smile for a few hrs and to At least make there Xmas a little less horrible, stressful and so on. On the day of the giving 60 % turned up few of those families were so grateful and truly appreciated everyones effort especially those that donated. The rest in my opinion did not necessarily need this assistance or help , if they can walk in with v drinks shopping etc... why the hell do they need gifts donated by amazing ppl???. Without me ranting on forever we had a substantial amount of gifts left over, we did not want it to go to a couple of charitys that get so much so we played santa in papakura. Now I got told off by a person who had donated some gifts to us for doing this, I understand why as this cost money , but I can assure you that some of these ppl were homeless and others were well in need. How do I know they were in need ?? Because u could tell a mile off, the ones in the $2.oo shop buying a broom and there kids asking for a toy sorry mummy does not have any money and the kids accepting it, and the look of sadness on mums face and u happen to over hear this conversation, and your gifts got handed to these kids and one for mum, and the look on her face and those kids was worth a million bucks. These are the ones we walked the streets to find. How did I get it so wrong with an organization that found me these families. So I will stop blabbing on today I still had some items left I was feeling so bad for all of u. And I went outside my shop and here comes a mum with her 5 kids in tow, she smiles and said hello and I starting talking to her, because I just knew. She did not know what I had for her but she needed to unload a little on the shit life has dealt her, and I gave her all that I had left. She was so overwhelmed, and each of her children thanked me, we dropped it off to her as she has no transport and all the kids were waiting for us the neighbours come out to offer to take the stuff inside this lady made it all worth it. The ones that dont ask are the ones most in need and deserving. If I do this again I am going to find these families myself, even thru the local schools it was disheartening and rewarding all at the same time. Thank you from me to u for all those that supported this and I hope if it continues, that o can find a solution in finding the right families.
