Hipster Economics--Urban decay becomes a set piece to be remodeled or romanticised. Examples--Mexico Citys Centro Historico, Boyle Heights, New Orleans, the Bronx, Austins Eastside. Gentrification spreads the myth of native incompetence: That people need to be imported to be important, that a sign of a neighbourhoods success is the removal of its poorest residents.
