Hm, another perspective which I find to be interesting. Gaming, be it video gaming, board gaming, or any sort of escapism type hobby is going to naturally attract those individuals who are neuro-atypical and/or on the autistic scale. The stereotype of the gamer is someone who is socially awkward/an outcast which includes things like not being able to quite hit social ques or can even include things like hygiene issues. With the sudden rush of popularity in gaming and the attempt to extinguish the gamer stereotype, are we possibly invading and suppressing the neuro-atypical in their safe haven?
