And I sometimes get my shorts in a bunch over bad writing, but recently I saw (and lost) an article that claimed all this overemphasis on proper grammar has a big downside: It is preventing the natural evolution of the language. BULLSHIT! Most evolutionary changes lead to harmful modifications and extinction! Evolution is occasionally beneficial, but most often it is harmful.
