I am reading & hearing too much of bullshit since last night. We drew 1 game and the whole Bayern camp is trembling, our fans bashing the coach, even our stalwarts earlier commented that soon we’ll be unwatchable and boring like FC Barcelona. People forgetting that we still have an upper hand with that away goal, and we’ll fix this pickle next Wednesday in Munich, and the world will see how it is done (just that I would prefer a non-Spanish referee next time). We were still, by miles, the more superior team in every aspect of football. The problem was whole world wrote United off before the game and expected Bayern to hammer a run-riot. And when that didn’t happen everybody panicked. United shocked us by showing massive resilience in the defense and we have to respect them for that. If we got a similar result last year at this stage (before we won anything), am sure we would have happily accepted it. So what’s changed now? CL is not EPL, a different ball game altogether, the level of motivation changes, and United are out of the EPL race anyways. So it’s pointless to consider United’s EPL perforance and be complacent about it. Yes most of our attacks were toothless but there’s no point in criticising Pep now. There were different strategies last year under Jupp and before him under Van Gaal. Not every coach thinks the same way and the team has to adapt and evolve accordingly. Pep has been Europe’s best coach in the last decade and there’s a reason for it. Sometimes plans might not work as you would want to, esp. when 10 players are defending inside the box, what would you do then if not have the possession? Why’s everybody crying that we keep 75% of possession? What’s the harm in that? We can keep building attacks after attacks ONLY if he have the command over possession. Don’t forget that our attacks were 2.5 times more than theirs’, our attempts on target were twice than theirs’, and our completed passes were 3 times more. Agreed we were more ruthless last year, but this year we are more stable, patient, and can create cancerous attacks which would drive any opposition to the backfoot. So let’s not criticise the coach and his tactics, we all KNOW that he will change certain things and find a decent solution to this. Let’s restore our trust in Pep and get behind the players and BELIEVE that we’ll get through to the semis. We know we are the better team and we WILL win. Kein Panik. Kämpfen und siegen.
