I have been saying this for a while. The natural hair phenomenon among black women is not a TREND. Its the beginning of what some people fear the most. Why would some people fear what women do to their hair? Heres why... when you embrace your natural God-given identity and the physical attributes that He created in you, You are secure in who you are and it is my hope that you know whose you are. When you get to this place you no longer seek the approval of another culturally different group and do what they say is needed to fit in... you just live your life enjoying YOU which means you know who you are! When you know whose you are... you no longer worry about others trying to label you nor do you accept the label. You just live who you are and whose you are knowing you are what God created you to be and He does not make any mistakes! I am not saying that those who do not wear their hair natural do not know this. As long as you do what you do for YOU and not to look like what society tells you is beautiful... you are in a good place..but you have to be honest with self!
