I have tried to stop using retarded but the fuss is a bit illogical no one is making fun of mentally handicap people it is a word that exists outside of that aspect. It has a real meaning and a slang meaning that derived from the word. It means to slow movement. So using retarded in that aspect has nothing to do with a mentally handicapped person. Like I said since folks are all upset I will stop using the word but, If you analyze language you are going to find words that were derived from a completely different word with only a slightly similar definition. That is how we made other languages we based them off Latin. Many of the root words only have a slight resemblance of the word we use now. To say that is retarded is merely saying that is a slow minded idea. If i wanted to insult a mentally handicapped person I would say something like that is a retarded persons idea.
