I just realized the biggest problem with the Live Action Rurouni Kenshin movie. While they sacrificed the Kenshin Saito dojo fight in order to ensure the plot flows, they inadvertently removed one of the most important factor behind Kenshin as a character. The Dojo fight showed everyone and cemented how vulnerable Kenshin really was. Unleashing the Batousai against JinE might feel like a one off thing, and Kenshin managed to control himself anyway. But against Saito, it was the first time the true Hitokiri Battousai was actually shown to the audience. The moment where all the main cast were invisible to Kenshin and Saito brought home to both the characters and the audience how terrifying and easily lost Kenshin actually was. Because of that scene, all subsequent Batousai moments carried the Oh FUUUCKKK factor. It was that factor that was missing from the Live Action movies. It was because of this the Live Action Movies, despite how AMAZING they were, cannot be as perfect as the original Anime. (and why all I see Takeru Batousai as, is a whiny kid who had his fave toy stolen instead of the cold blooded manslayer)
