I met Key Business Network for the first KBN Logan meeting in July - TopicsExpress

I met Key Business Network for the first KBN Logan meeting in July this year. Id received a call out of the blue from a chap asking me if Id be interested in coming along to a networking breakfast meeting. Id received some advice, not long before, that networking groups would be the best method for meeting people and practice talking about my business with a view to increasing my client-base. So when Roger Seach called I quickly agreed that I was in fact interested and accepted his invitation. After struggling along on letterbox drops, a couple of internet directories, some newpaper ads, car signs, Bartercard - you know the sort of thing - I was starting to wonder what I had to do to meet more people. And while working from home is a great lifestyle one of the cons is losing work networks. Cue Key Business Network. Right from the very first meeting of about say 10 people all with similar goals that I have, I think I met 4 people who could (and do) help me with the issues I was having with my business immediately, as well as several more who have subsequently become firm friends. In fact, every Tuesday morning as we all share our business news with each other, listen to Rogers Business Tips and the 5 minute speaker then the 20 minute speaker we have formed a fantastic bond. Its pure gold. The group is very friendly, dynamic and growing. The referral process has begun to kick in and is only just beginning! There are lots of laughs, some fantastic tips, really interesting, articulate speakers at the same time as some genuine friendships being forged amongst the members for the future. So the benefits of KBN to my busness so far have been 5 new clients, systems organisation help from The Time Tamer, an ongoing education on the internet and its tools from Red Fox Strategies, upgrading and maintaining my IT equipment from Simplify Technology, some brilliant business head shots from Studio 4 Photography, and some really nice business cards from Minuteman Press Slacks Creek. I have also formed a strategic alliance with another KBN member that is likely to expand both our horizons in the future and Im about to do business with my second business from another KBN group! All this and its only been 5 months! Julie Bannister is the lynchpin of Key Business Network. Her gentle and yet firm guidance and encouragement keeps KBN alive and vibrant. We miss her when shes attending other meetings on Tuesdays, while understanding that she cant be in two places at the same time! Julie & Dougs passion to help small businesses grow, thrive and meet their potential has manifested into something highly effective and very successful. Now, I still do business for myself, but as Julie promises, not by myself. I am very grateful, thank you Julie & Doug.
