I spent a few years, in my youth, living on the Coeur dAlene Native American Rez. Just a few years, but very profound ones! I believe that helped shape some of my faith. Anyhow, I was standing on the deck, tonight, and was paid a visit by a Great Horned Owl. It swooped down and landed on my deck rail. For a few seconds, we took a gander at one another. This is the THIRD time this has happened . . . same scenario, in the last 17 years Ive lived here! Its a weird/funny experience. Almost like butterfIies in the stomach when youre face to face. I find great comfort in hearing their calls, at night. So loud, they permeate the outer house and sound like they are in the trees, just above me. Some would say this is not a good sign, but I say its profoundly spiritual in a good sense! Cray!
