I thank God for successful given to me to control the affair of more than 170 students at Ekiti state university for complete four or five years ago. GOVERNOR SPEECH AN ADDRESS DELIVERED BY OGBENI TIJANI SOLIU OLATUNDE, THE GOVERNOR OF ACCOUNTING EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY, NIGERIA ON VALEDICTORY SERVICE HELD ON FRIDAY 11TH OCTOBER, 2013 AT EACOED, OYO. The Chairman, The Special Guest of Honour, The Guest Speaker, The Coordinator, The Head of Department, Our Distinguished Lecturers, My Colleague Students, Ladies and gentlemen, PREAMBLE I welcome you all to this special occasion, with deep sense of sincerity, I thank Almighty God, the lord of the incomparable majesty for preserving our lives to witness today’s occasion. To live is not a right but privilege, four or five years ago that we started our programme was just like yesterday. God is so be with us, we did not lose anybody out of One hundred and seventy (170) Students of Accounting Education I led (Alhamudulillahi) I thank God. ACHIEVEMENTS: Presentation of a Copier Machine Success and achievements belong to Almighty God – the originator of all. To Him be the glory. With unflinching co-operation of my colleagues, we were able to present a copier machine for the use of the Department. Production of Graduands Album For future references and interconnectivity, we produced 2012/2013 graduating students Album. CHALLENGES In human administration, there is no way by which human problems could be totally solved. In the light of this we encountered the following challenges: Financial Problem: As sandwich students some members founds it so hard to meet their financial obligations to the Department at the right time. Rumours Mongering: Some of our colleagues, sometimes jumped of the protocol and caused misunderstanding. Whenever they heard any rumour, instead of coming to me directly for verification, they continue to carry rumour around. This was not justifiable. It could lead to hatred and rancour. Be it as it may, I believe and know that to err belongs to man while to forgive belongs to Allah. In the light of this axiom, I forgive those who were involved in such rumour. As perfection belongs to God, I solicit for your forgiveness all those errors I might have committed in attempts to carry out responsibilities reposed on me. APPRECIATIONS To whom much is given much is expected. On this note, I wish to show my great appreciation to Almighty God for giving me where wither throughout my tenure and those people who have really and sincerely contributed immensely to the success recorded so far. Firstly, I appreciate the effort of my unbreakable, incomparable coordinator of Accounting and Business Education Department in person of Mrs. Maffo F. for her motherly care and encouragement given to us during our course of studies, May Almighty God be with you ma and your family. Secondly, my appreciation goes to my powerful Head of Department in person of Mr. Oladeji A. D. for his guidance and counselling given to us, May Almighty Allah in His infinity mercy continue to reward and protect you sir and your family. Thirdly, my acknowledgement will not complete without appreciate the effort of all our lecturers both in and out side of this department which the time did not permit me to mention their names for their effective lecturing given to us May Almighty God continue reward you abundantly. Before ending my appreciation, I must say big thanks to my co-students starting from Elders in the department, members of the committee, my deputy governor and all accounting students for their fully cooperation, God bless you.
