I was brave today and called Lt. Governors Office! I had a great conversation with his representative on the phone. She said they hadnt had a lot of input yet regarding this situation. We spoke about the interruptions possible with fewer PSAPs, and the loss of 40 or more jobs, from highly intelligent, well trained dispatchers. My final line to her was the fact that no matter how much money is saved, this savings doesnt take care of the people needing assistance! I was asked, if possible, if I could attend a meeting in Montpelier regarding these changes.. I also related the story about a call the other nite in Danby, and how mutual aid was dispatched. By the time our trucks were on the road, those in Rutland had called all 4 towns for mutual aid! Cant ask for better.. Will this happen if we are talking with Rockingham, Williston??? Well see what comes of this
