IMPORTANT NOTICE We have been asked to share this notice..If you know anyone who may need it please share this information NOTICE OF TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: PALATINE MAIN STREET To Whom It May Concern: Carlow County Council’s Central Engineering Area has received funding under its Roads Maintenance programme to resurface Main Street, Palatine and has engaged a contractor to carry out these works on Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th January 2014 between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm. The works shall consist of the removal of the existing top layer of macadam and the relaying of the street from a point on the Carlow side of the Lime Grove entrance to a point where the street levels out after the granite cottages (see map below). As a follow up, there shall be refitting of ironware and road line marking works on a later day. To facilitate these works and to ensure the safety of operatives and the public, it shall be necessary to temporarily close the street completely between these two points as the machinery required to carry out these works are so large. There will be no through vehicular traffic or no access for vehicular traffic for houses along the works extent. Motorists wishing to pass through the village shall be diverted via Long Mile, Burton Hall, Knockbane and vice versa on a signposted alternative route. Spruhan’s school bus has agreed to liaise with us and shall be informing parents and children of their alterative arrangements directly. Carlow County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused to residents and road users as a result of these works and shall endeavour to minimise any disruption
