If you happen to come by in the mornings, or even odd times during the day, you may just get lucky enough to witness the absolute delightfulness that is....GOO!!!! Mr. Magoo has been elected (by the staff, at least) as the honorary SpokesPug for Fuzzy Friends, because, well, hes just that awesome. Goo was found tied to a tree in Cameron Park, and when he first showed up, it looked like he was going to lose an eye - a little bit of a challenge, but nothing out of the ordinary for this breed. The reality of his situation turned out to be far worse. Routine bloodwork before his scheduled neuter revealed liver abnormalities, which did not resolve after a few weeks of medication. Our worst fears were realized when he had an ultrasound done: a large, essentially inoperable liver shunt. The vets do not feel comfortable neutering him at this time, and the initial prognosis was maybe 18 more months. He is currently enrolled in a study for medical management of liver shunts; we dont know if he has shown clinical improvement, but he is certainly showing a real zest for life! Mr. Magoo may never be healthy enough to go up for adoption, but your donations have enabled us to provide him the treatment he needs to have a good - no, GREAT - quality of life. He has a legion of fans who fawn over him daily, and as you can see, hes eating it up. Liver shunt or no, we love us some GOO!!!!
