In my opinion, this truck is just oozing with character. I photographed this 1967 International Loadstar 1600 back in 1997 while it was in service at the Warrenton Training Center (Department of Defense) outside of Warrenton, Virginia in Fauquier County. WTC runs as Station 19, and has two stations. This was Reserve Engine 19, housed at the substation. I recall it was affectionately called Huckabuck, based on the ride you got when driving the truck. I am not sure my notes on the truck were totally complete. I have it as a Darley, although I am not sure if that was the pump or body, or both. 500/250. This truck was replaced not long after this photograph. I love the overhead ladder rack, the placement of the light bar (to accommodate the ladder rack), the Q, etc. If anyone has additional info on the body, etc., I would love to hear from you.
