In spite of the weather being dull and miserable this is a wonderful day. Its the anniversary of the day I met Amy 7 months ago on April 15th at Sheffield Station. Weve been constant companions ever since that day and have hardly been apart since then. We are so happy together and our love has blossomed so much that we cant bear to be apart. Life is wonderful and its all thanks to Amy.X. Now weve got our holiday in Mexico to look forward to on January 7th. Fabulous! I had a lucky day on the horses yesterday . My favourite jockey Richard Johnson rode 3 winners and I backed them all; Balthazar King ( 1st at 4-7.) Bold Henry ( 1st at 14-1.) Champagne West. ( 1st at 7-2.) Very nice! I dont put a lot on but I got £36 back which is always welcome. Amy and I are going to the Lyceum Theatre , Sheffield tomorrow night to see Ken Dodd which were looking forward to. Hes a great comic! But ; what to do today? That is the question! Its hardly sight-seeing weather. We could go into the village and watch the traffic-lights change colour ; or nip into Tescos and watch the bacon-slicer working ;or paint the garage door and watch the paint dry. That reminds me of the gag about the dim handy man. His boss asked him to paint the Porch green. A few hours later the boss said have you painted the Porch green for me? He said I could find the Porche so Ive painted your Ferrari.Heres a rhyme from the pen of the prolific poet Pam Ayres ; THERE ONCE WAS A MAN FROM RHYL. WHO SWALLOWED AN ATOMIC PILL.PARTS OF HIS ORGAN WERE FOUND IN GLAMORGAN.AND HIS NUTS ON A TREE IN BRAZIL. When I was younger I wanted to be a doctor ; but I didnt have the patients. ( B-Boom.) A pal of mine is only 5 feet tall and he wanted to be a brain-surgeon but they said he wasnt tall enough so he became a Gynocologist.
