In the wake of Fathers Day, I realize I never posted anything about Dad, but everyone from priests to physicians have told me that you grieve in your own time and way. My music listening tonight took me back to The Doors and Led Zeppelin, bands that Dad absolutely adored. As I was listening to Zeppelin, I remembered my first discovery of the band as an adolescent who dropped Led Zeppelin IV under the needle and was never the same. Dads vinyl collection changed me deeply in those years, but this song still radiates above everything else, perhaps because it connected to the J.R.R. Tolkien collection Dad had bought me a few years earlier. Whatever the case, this song still radiates throughout my skull on a primal yet cerebral level and will always remind me of Dad because we often enjoyed Zeppelin together....I can remember Kashmir through the mountains of NC as he drove with me to leave me there for grad school....A year and half later, I still dont miss you any less...This song goes out to you tonight....
