It was a year ago today that we brought Leica, now Momma, home from the ARC shelter. I will never forget Carlene Castleman walking me through rows of cages- fighting back tears, Ronnie Haislip proudly tending the special needs dogs in stalls and meeting Scotlund Haisley. It was a lot like meeting the Godfather of rescue. We had to go up the steep steel stairs of a warehouse turned into an emergency shelter, into an office that overlooked the floor. Karla Goodson and Amiee Stubbs, Scotlunds right and left hand women, totally exhausted, explained each dogs needs and what we would be getting into. After being interviewed/grilled by Scotlund as to our qualifications to foster, paperwork completed, pics taken, Momma left the shelter on her way to a new life. Saying thank you to all those involved in the OBC rescue, doesnt even begin to convey my gratitude. Im truly blessed to have my beautiful, crazy Momma♥
