Its Christmas Day here in Australia and what can I say, Ive had a roller coaster of a year and so have most of the amazing people I know. More than being trialled, I have been blessed. With every trial I have also been rewarded. Ive learned through many great friends that servitude and selflessness is its own reward. My best friend passed away, so did two uncles and one aunty. Ive overcome a nervous breakdown and in this past week my own physical health has been challenged ~ yet through all this I have managed to be able to continue to sing. Ive achieved some amazing musical awards but none of this would have been possible without the blessings of God. For many years I turned from God, but I realise now that this was his plan. This was his test for me. It was only when I was completely broken around 8 weeks ago that I have learnt I need to be rebuilt. As I am rebuilding it is my hope that people regardless of their own spirituality see a man who is willing yet humbled. A man who believes the love of my partner Shim Kristiansen will strengthen me, the same as the love I have to give to others. In 2015, I will be going to Theology College ~ because as society changes so do we all. I do not know what to expect on this journey but I would like to hope I find a connection between my Jewish and Church of England heritages. Melissa Greene, Greg Long, and Jody McBrayer, youve shown me that ministry is not just preaching from a pulpit but for me, I have learned that as I attend to a lot of end of life nursing that singing helps people relax and releases endorphins allowing them to pass peacefully with the aide of medication of course. You have blessed my life and I hope to do the same in faithful servitude.
