Its hard to put into words how much I love Vocal Booth. Stunning weather aside, the moment I set off from the airport I was surrounded by like-minded friendly people excited about having a great time. The music is absolutely superb, with a DJ roster you wont see at every other festival, the vibe something only a group of regulars can create - it really is a family affair - and I cant wait to book up again for next year. I also seem to dance more there than anywhere else; for me, the music is my perfect match. Massive, massive thanks have to go to Andy for creating something so spectacular. DJ sets of the weekend: first and foremost, I have to thank my two fave ginger Martins - Messrs Lodge and Atjazz - for making Saturday so memorable. Best in show sets from both of you; some genius-like qualities you both have. Special shout to Ross for seflessly risking electrocution with a pool dip followed by some pretty awesome bass playing. Souldynamic (Luca Ciotoli and Stefano De Magistris) and Mats Mad Mats Karlsson for the amazing amount of energy they brought to Xairo; it literally went off in there! And to the people I hadn’t heard before; Lewis Ferrier, Mark Di Meo, thank you for making my first night so special, also honourable mentions to the Layabouts and Soulmagic. Manic Monday lived up to its billing and for that I have Ben Coppin & Miggs Harris, and Shaun Samuel to thank. Ben/Miggs I loved your new stuff and the set in general was full of soulful house gems, a lot of which I’d not heard before but were really immediate winners for me. Shaun; the Pressure Cooker was made for you and I was both surprised and delighted given your booze intake over the weekend that you delivered and HOW. You SMASHED it! These are just a few musical highlights; the surroundings, the 24/7 convos and laughs we all had; the soundsystem which is second to NONE (thanks Phillip Gill) and all my dancefloor partners, I salute you. I want to go back already! If you’re thinking about going – JUST DO IT. You won’t regret it. #VBSPAIN
