Jeevan Kishore, Rakshak intern from IIT kharagpur working on Crisis and Disaster Management with Shri Dr. navneet M Kothari, IAS, District Collector, West Nimar, Madhya Pradesh observes the following: These are some of my observations and opinions of the recent issue of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh State. The newly formed government in the Andhra Pradesh (Seemandhra) is facing many challenges. I would like to talk about the Urban and Rural sectors separately. In the rural areas, the power cut is a major problem today. Hardly they are given power supply to their homes for 4 hours or so and some villages have a power cut for 24 hours. The state is lacking in the power generation so now it has to look for alternatives of energy and this requires high budget. Due to lack of power, the motors in the fields doesnt work and also due to inadequate rainfall the agricultural production is decreased and to sustain their lives farmers borrowed loans from banks and I am not quite sure about the figures but it is huge. The newly government (TDP) under the leadership Shri N Chandrababu Naidu promised that all these farmers will be given loan waivers i.e. they need not pay the loans, the government will look after, in their election manifesto. This amounts to huge requirement of budget. These are only 2 issues I have identified. There may be more. Let me give an insight about urban area. The state need a capital and it has to be built. Building a capital involves building lot of infrastructure like Secretariat, government offices, residential complexes and without all these we can never expect a foreign investment in the state. One more important thing, the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh has no International Airport which I feel is highly essential for the foreign investments and Comapnies establishment. Transport, Health, Education all have to be improved. With all these issues, the government has really a tough challenge and we have to wait and watch how the state government actually addresses each issue and since the State government is a part of NDA, the involvement and interest of the Shri Modis government also plays a key role in developing the newly formed state
