K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology The K. S. Rangasamy College of Technology (KSRCT), started under the KSR Group of institutions in the year 1994, has come up with all basic and advanced modern infrastructure facilities, excelling both in academic and research activities. The college has earned reputation among all the self-financing colleges in South India by the way of academic excellence, introduction of new courses and providing necessary amenities for the betterment of student community. The institution is now focusing on research and development through sponsoredresearch projects and consultancy services. KSRCT established by the KSR Educational and Charitable Trust is located at Tiruchengode around 12 km from Erode on the Erode-Tiruchengode state highway. It is an autonomous institution, affiliated to Anna University of Technology Coimbatore, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, accredited by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi (certified by ISO 9001-2000, TÜV Germany). It offers 14 undergraduate and 16 postgraduate courses besides M.S./Ph.D. programs in different science, engineering and technology disciplines. The college excels in academic performance by securing university ranks and gold medals. This institution is headed by Prof. Dr. K. Thyagarajah. The Educational Institutions, which come under the KSR Group are the KSR Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Rajammal Rangasamy Higher Secondary School, Avvai KSR Matriculation School, Rajammal Rangasamy I.T.I., KSR College of Technology, KSR College of Arts and Science, KSR Polytechnic College, KSR College of Engineering, RR TeacherTraining Institute, KSR Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, KSR College of Education, KSR College of Arts and Science for Women, KSR ITI, and the KSR Institute of Industrial Training School. The total student‘s strength nurturing the arts, science, engineering, technology and dental medicine education is around 25,000. The students are coming from not only in India but all over the globe especially from countries such as South Africa, Kenya and Nepal. Centre for Nano Science and Technology (CNST) In continuation of the dedicated service of KSR Educational Trust, the management extends full support in establishing a unique and offshore research Centre for Nano Science and Technology (CNST) with dedicated team of faculty and scientists working to bring innovation in nano science and technology under the directorship of Prof. Dr. V. Rajendran. The centre is aimed to cater to the academic and industrial needs in collaboration with a wide range of national/international universities/research centres/industries. The management is keen in bringing out the CNST as a world-class research centre to take up any challenging research work in nano valley for the benefits of the nation and the society. The centre has already completed 4 major & twelve minor projects successfully from DRDO, DST and DAE New Delhi at a total grant of 2.11/- crores. Three major and one minor research projects from DST, DRDO and DAE-CSR and IGCAR with a total grant of 1.22/- crores are ongoing. The centre has filed 13 patents in nano metal oxides from natural minerals, nano silica from rice husk, and nano particles from herbal plants for various industrial applications. These patents are ready for technology transfer. The centre has already signed MoUs with leading research institutes in India and foreign countries like Germany, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, UK and USA for joint collaborative research work. The centre is also looking for joint collaborations with multinational companies such as Mintek (South Africa), Elton (UK) on mutual interest. The department offers postgraduate M.Tech. course in Nano Science and Technology in addition to M.S. /Ph.D. programmes. The department has already conducted one international confrence and three national symposium and two workshops.
