KOUZA UNDER FIRE The Morobe provincial executive council members, headed by Deputy Governor Judas Nalau have taken a hardline stand against the proposed Lae city commission. The issue has dragged into its second month with a widening gap between the Lae MP, Loujaya Kouza and the Morobe Provincial Executive Council. A draft Lae City commission act has already been produced- giving possibilities to go ahead with the commission. Over the past four weeks, on numerous occasions, the PEC has asked for consultations between the NEC and the Morobe Provincial Government. But all that has turned out to be unsuccessful. The question now is, should Lae become a city commission or should the government adequately fund the existing Lae city council? While the issue continues, Morobeans have sounded a warning that they will take actions to get the attention of Ms. Kouza and the government, if they don’t negotiate with them.
