Killer Women Comes to Belen By Lawrence Kaneshiro, September 30, 2013 BELEN – ABC’s “Killer Women” is expected to shoot in and around the Belen area in the coming weeks. Expect minor traffic delays on streets where filming is occurring including during the evening hours. “Killer Women” based on an Argentine crime drama called “Mujeres Asesinas” was adapted into an American setting by writer Hannah Shakespeare who also serves as executive producer along with Sofia Vergara, Ben Silverman, Luis Balaguer, and Martin Campbell. Tricia Helfer as Molly Parker, Killer WomenThe show stars Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica), Marc Blucas (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Alex Fernandez (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen), Marta Milans (Shame), Michael Trucco, Beth Riesgraf and Vincent Fuentes. The series, centers on Helfer (pictured left) who plays Texas Ranger, Molly Parker, a divorcee, former beauty queen and daughter of a sheriff, who rises to the top of the ranks of the male dominant Texas Rangers. The series pilot opens in a Texas church where a shooting takes place and Texas Rangers are sent to investigate the possibility of involvement by the Mexican Cartel. The action packed eight-episode crime drama, is shot primarily in Albuquerque but takes place in and around Texas. The series is expected to be on ABC’s 2014 mid-season schedule, but there is not any word on an airdate just yet.
