LIFE ON OUR NUT FARM – DINNER with KENNY Up early AM to work on art, e-mails, and then my hair appointment with the lovely Miss Alison. It is always nice to see everyone at Studio A! After my appointment, I went to visit my ninety-three year old father Kenny at his assisted living facility. I purchased books at the thrift store for him and had some groceries to deliver. Back home, all our Pets happy to see me, and then more art work. It was our night out to dinner, Kenny, my brother Paul, and sister-in-law Cheri. We all had our “regulars!” Kenny had the Penn Cove Mussels with “drawn butter,” the server did not know what that was. I almost said the chef would know! Soon, our server returned and neither knew what drawn butter was! I was surprised, however, not the regular chef tonight. I explained and then suggested they Google it! Our dinners arrived; Kenny loved his mussels with lots of drawn butter, and sour dough rolls, dripping with butter! Paul had the, Useless Bay Pasta with Shrimp. Cheri had a Waldorf salad both enjoyed their meals! I had a Chicken Caesar Salad, with extra cheese, no dressing. Of course, I ordered my favorite, Sweet Potato Fries, and Cheri enjoyed them with me! We missed Michael he had another overtime shift today. During our meal, the restaurant filled up, and a large group sat next to us. I glanced over, and sensed I knew these people from long ago. Suddenly, I am back in high school, at the Sacred Heart Convent I graduated from. One of my best friend’s older sister and her mother, along with several generations were now sitting next to me! Of course, me being me, I hopped up, went over, and said “Hello!” They recognized me immediately with wide smiles! We chatted for a while and they said “Hi!” to Kenny, Paul, and Cheri! It was a Wonderful rainy day here on Whidbey Island! Many Blessings from Our Nut Farm.
