Last night I was told that I do absolutely nothing all day everyday. Right. I sit on the couch eating bon-bons all day, of course. The truth is sometimes I dont even have time to use the bathroom when I want. Even something as easy as cooking a simple meal becomes a chore when there is a 6 month old demanding attention as she yells and throws toys off of her high chair over and over again because she thinks it is hilarious to watch me pick them up. I put a lot of thought into what it is I do everyday and decided that I would without a doubt rather struggle only working 1 day a week then work just to pay for daycare where my child would only get a fraction of the attention she receives now. What is it that I do everyday? I teach my daughter to roll, crawl, stand, walk and talk. I sing dance laugh and cry with her. I do endless amounts of laundry and bottles and change more diapers then Ive ever thought possible. I have the privilege of watching my daughter grow and learn everyday and I wouldnt trade it for anything. Yes I have a college degree and I cant wait to start working one day but I do not regret a single decision I have made since my daughter was born. Keep in mind while you enjoy your morning coffee or your after work nap that those are things I can only dream of. So please, women, men..especially fathers.. next time you think that a stay at home mother does absolutely nothing all day...please shut the hell up.
