Last nights question of the day was: How would you interpret the following verse? Matthew 10:16 16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. My interpretation of this verse is as follows: Sheep are meek and mild mannered creatures who gather together in large numbers for safety and security from predators such as wolves that seek to devour them! This means that we, the followers of Christ, should come together to help one another when faced with the predatory onslaught of the devil and his minions! Serpents, when you really pay attention to them, are very intelligent animals! They know many ways to hunt their prey, how to disguise themselves in various ways, how to defend against attacks and when to move away from danger. They are constantly aware of their surroundings and quite capable of inflicting serious injuries! We are to be wise like them in our awareness, yet we should be as the dove! They bird that is associated with peace and tranquility. It is a beautiful animal that soars through the skies.
