Last update for tonight: The victim has been identified as Thurston Deshawn Eason, 26, said Jefferson County Sheriffs Office spokesman Maj. Lafayette Woods Jr. The incident occurred at 8:22 p.m. at 3rd and Main in Altheimer. Witnesses told deputies that Eason and the suspect, who Woods identified as Keith Darnell Shelton, 30, were involved in an argument and during the argument, Shelton allegedly shot Eason. A second person, Alfred Burton Jr., 26, was also shot and was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center with what Woods described as a non-life threatening wound. Shelton was identified by a witness to the incident. He is still at large. Anyone with info is asked to call 541.5351 or the dispatch center at 541.5300. Shelton should be considered armed and dangerous.
