Let me remind you the basics: - to each soldier of Armed Forces of Ukraine daily food allowance is allocated in the amount of a bit less than 18 UAH. In ATO zone flight norm was activated, therefore another 5 UAH are added. To summarize, daily food allowance all together is around 23 UAH per day. - MoD and Head Staff are not responsible for food supply. Starting from the moment when Gritsenko, one of ex-ministers of defense, implemented the reforms, this activity is outsourced. The state pays for the feeding service and the acquisition of products is a head ache of commercial companies which signed respective agreements with Armed Forces (there are 4 of them). - in ATO zone the cooking is performed by the cooks serving in the Armed Forces, commercial companies appeared to be not willing to deliver the service in the war zone, so they just provide the army with products. - all units of Armed Forces located in ATO zone have one and the same norm, all of them are served by the same companies from same warehouses. End of story. For lunch the 79th Brigade was served with: Kharcho soup (full of meat, tasty), spaghetti with stewed beaf (lots of meat, very tasty), Kompot with dried fruits, cookies and buns. In the officers room there were also cheese, sandwiches with meat paste (all main courses were served from COMMON pot). We had a great lunch and good talk waiting for the truck bringing cargo and went to unload it. I give my best wishes to those who are like its/the/end/we/are/all/done and to some volunteers with constant catastrophe complex who joined them. The food is generally bad in the army, mostly it is not varied enough. There are little vegetables and sweets. However, being 8 months in ATO area both in the 79th and other brigades close to it, I have NEVER seen the lack of basic food. There is a hell of problems with logistics - yes, the transportation to the remote locations is not organized well. However, the transportation to these locations is performed by the military units themselves and not by MoD, Head Staff, Poroshenko, Yatsenyuk etc. And here the sad truth comes: in the feeding aspect everything depends not from generals but from the commanders of the units. They organize and control it. Its just that in most cases they are not organizing anything and dont care at all about control. And some of them are also stealing, alas. And the 79th Brigade is lucky with the commanders, its my personal opinion. Thats why they eat Kharcho soup, yes. Let me add a bit more. I dont care about the comments of those who are like its/the/end/we/are/all/done. These posts are written for the relatives of soldiers from the 79th, I am presenting them the life of our boys. And the relatives of the soldiers from the 79th generally trust me since the boys also tell them the same.
