Man killed by a train A 28 year old Botswana Defence Force soldier based at the Francistown camp was killed by a train yesterday in Gaborone near the Sebele fire station. According to Acting Station Commander of Broadhurst Police Station, Howard Modo, the accident happened at around 2200 hours when the victim was trying to cross the railway line with his car. “It seems the victim did not observe the stop sign by the railway crossing to check for oncoming train,” said Modo. He said the victim was certified dead at Princess Marina Hospital and family members have since been notified. He advised the public to be always vigilant when approaching railway lines to check for any oncoming train.
