The men and women in ads are all Photoshopped. We expect politicians to lie to us....and we elect them anyway. We believe that going to school, getting a good job, and being in debt our whole life as the American dream. The idea of teaching people HOW to make money in school is a completely foreign concept. The trust factor in our society is so eroded that we actually EXPECT that people arent going to be 100% truthful....and were okay with it. So, when someone actually shows up and theyre speaking the AUTHENTIC TRUTH.....its like a breath of fresh air. We immediately resonate with it because we can recognize that its different from all the noise that we normally hear on a daily basis. And heres the challenge: sometimes the Authentic Truth isnt pretty. Its not always attractive. Like this truth: âThe Industrial Age is DEAD. The old career path is no longer a secure path to financial freedom. Today people wake up not knowing if today is the day they are downsized, let go, or laid off.â J.R.R. Tolkien once had one of his characters say (paraphrased), I believe you. I think a liar would seem fairer and feel fouler. The other character responded: I see! I look foul and feel fair, is that it? All that glitters is not gold.... Sometimes what you NEED to hear is not what you WANT to hear.
