Maybe because of the movie Sniper just out - i havent see it yet - lots of talk and posts about it. Getting me to think about our soldier heroes that keep us safe and to whom we owe our freedom and our way of life. Thinking back of a 1972 TV movie i cant seem to find on DVD and im wondering if its even available. Welcome Home Johnny Bristol. Not to ruin it if you find it, but It portrays a particular soldier whos trying to find his home time, family and friends and they dont seem to exist. No one believes him. Its a drama that touches on PTSD although we didnt really label it back then. The movie stars one of my all-time favorite actors Martin Landau who you probably know from Mission Impossible, or North by Northwest or possibly The Majestic although hes been in hundreds of movies and tv shows. An incredibly gifted actor. Heres a little clip I found. And Im going to include a theme written for Martin (playing Rollin Hand on Mission Impossible) written by another of my heroes, Lalo Schifrin. To me this music captures Martin himself, his wit, charm, his ability to adapt and play so many characters. Hope you enjoy it. https://youtube/watch?v=LFv0z7URnHk
