Meet TPDs newest officer: Officer Nehemiah Hill. This very, very, very, inquisitive young 5 year old (probably 100+ questions asked and answered if not more....lol) showed up at the police department yesterday at the afternoon shift change. He had his wheelchair made up like one of our Dodge Charger police cruisers and he had a uniform on. He was given a tour of the station and wanted to sit in a charger. I told him that we only allow police officers in the front seats of the cruisers SOOOO he was sworn in as an Honorary Auxiliary Officer for the day and given a framed Oath of Office. Unfortunately it was pouring down rain so the Fire Dept. was nice enough to let us pull into one of their bays to take some pictures and let him sit in the cruiser. Ofc. Hill even got to turn on the lights and sirens! When Ofc. Hill asked why all the officers where around him he was told it was shift change and the day-shift officers were going home and the afternoon shift officers were coming on to duty and he was asked if he wanted to stay for the afternoon shift. Ofc. Hills response was he would stay for 5 minutes!. Now that is a shift that all the officers wanted to bid for.....It was a wonderful experience for everyone working here yesterday afternoon....~Chief
